Spearmint oil is extracted by steam distillation method from the flowery top of a hardy perennial herb that grows from 1-3 meter in height. The Spearmint oil herb has bright green lace-shaped, sharply serrated leaves. The flowers are pink or lilac in color. It is widely grown in India between June to August. In addition to India Spearmint Oil is also produced in China and USA. It is very good for digestive system and gentle on children. Spearmint Oil also works well on digestive system to relive cough, asthma, and sinus. Although, most of its properties are same to Peppermint oil, Spearmint oil does not contain methanol and is comparatively more gentle to skin.
