Ylang ylang essential oil is extracted from steam distillation method of flowers of the tree called Canaga odorata, which is also known as flower of flowers. I grows up to a height of 20 meters and have large, tender, pink, mauve or yellow flowers. Out of all these color, yellow heads is considered to be of best quality. Different grades of Ylang-ylang essential oil is extracted at different times during the lengthy distillation method. These are known as of grade I, II, and III.
