Seeds of watermelon are pressed in order to extract watermelon oil. This is also known as ootanga oil or Kalahari oil commonly in West Africa. In order to extract watermelon oil, seeds of watermelon are taken out from the seed casing. They are then dried in sun. The dried seeds are then pressed for extracting the oil. Watermelon oil is rich in high amounts of unsaturated fatty acids. It is quick in absorption by skin and it is used for baby care products.
